MANUEL UY, CALATAGAN, BATANGAS (2018)

(This is my follow up blog for Manuel uy since we go there twice <2017 last year and this year March 2018> and they've done many changes.)

When we want to escape from toxic people and/or stressful work we think of a "beach getaway".
When we just want to relax, have fun, and feel the nature some of us wants it to be in a "beach" or somewhere peaceful.

Like MANUEL UY BEACH RESORT CAMPSITE (located in Calatagan, Batangas)
When you want to relax this is the perfect place for you.

They don't have cottages/rooms for guests to rent but they have tents for rent. You can bring your tent or rent their tent/s. But I suggest to bring your own tent if you're a budget traveler or if you want to lessen your expenses. BUT It's still up to you.

Below are the improvements that can be seen in the Resort Beach Camp:

(comparison of our first visit last 2017 to our 2nd visit this March 2018)

ENVIRONMENTAL FEE

Before you enter the gate/the resort a staff will collect an environmental fee that is 30php each.

FEES CHANGED

Here are their fees for this 2018. (see photo)

This year 2018, they changed their entrance fees. Last year (2017) as I've said from my previous blog, Daytour is 50php and overnight is 100php. But now, its already 100php for daytour and 200php for overnight. As we can see it was doubled. BUT for me that's fine cause we saw and felt the changes, that they used it for the improvements of the resort and they are getting popular.

Then last time, tent pitching is only 50php per tent but this year the lowest fee is 150php if you bring your own tent. They tripled the price. :)

For the parking, don't worry they have parking area but with a fee.

NEW COMFORT ROOMS

Last time they have BATHROOM FEES: Wiwi 5php / Poops 10php / Taking a bath 20php.
But now they have their new and clean bathrooms/shower area. BATHROOM USE IS FREE.
Now water in the CR is not salty anymore, unlike before that when you took a shower or brush your teeth you can taste that the water is salty.

NEW GRILLING AREA

Here you can of course grill your food. Cook your rice and etc. And its FREE OF USE.

SINKS

Are also available you can use the area for preparing your foods, washing the dishes, or even brushing your teeth. FREE USE.

CHARGING STATION, ICE FOR SALE, AND SOUVENIRS

There are no buildings in the resort except for the bathrooms and grilling area so meaning no sockets for those who need power/electricity. So they have the charging area of course for phone charging and other gadgets. I think they also allow plugging of rice cooker with a fee of course.
If you have power bank for your gadget/s that's better.

They also sell ice. And also souvenirs like keychains and T-shirts.

BONFIRES ARE NOT ALLOWED ANYMORE'

Bonfires or cooking near your tent/place is not allowed anymore they will tell you to use the grilling area for cooking.

TRAVEL TIPS:

  • Bring your own tent so you can lessen your expense. And if you don't have one, instead of renting their tent why not buy your own brand new tent? because the expense is just the same.
  • Better bring your own means of transportation.
  • The residents in the area near the beach has a store BUT better bring anything or everything that you think you'll need like coffee, cup noodles, spoon/fork/plates, hot water, ice, etc. because most of their products are over priced or double the price.
  • You can buy Ice in 7 eleven while on your way I think that's 5 km away from the beach.
  • I know its normal for the sea water to be salty but guys bring your goggles coz' its very very salty.
  • Aside from tent, tables, and chairs. You can also bring your duyan/hammock I think they allow it but make sure you choose the right tree on where to tie your hammock. :) And also you can bring your foldable bed.
  • Alcoholic drinks - they allow it but make sure you drink responsibly. No corkage fees.

RANDOM PHOTOS

As I've said to my first blog about Manuel Uy it's best to visit at night so the next day morning you can swim before the low tide comes. You can still swim while low tide but it's different. You'll have to walk too far just to reach the part of the ocean with enough water. And I think it's much enjoyable if you swim while it's not low tide. Coz for me low tide makes me feel "tamad" if its already low tide. I just wanna take photos of the place. Anyways it's "kanya kanyang trip". hehehe

AND that's it! :) Hope you enjoyed visiting my blog and I believed you got the answers that you need.
